In Kherengjuri, Churaibari Police have arrested another accused involved in the barbaric murder of a school-going child. He was produced before the court with a request for three days’ police remand.
It may be recalled that on Monday afternoon, 24 November, a group of miscreants launched a deadly attack with sharp weapons on Bijoya Sinha and her only son Amrit Sinha while they were returning home from school.
In the indiscriminate assault with sharp weapons, eight-year-old Amrit Sinha died on the spot, while his mother Bijoya Sinha fell to the ground severely injured and bleeding profusely. She was immediately taken to another state for advanced treatment, and her condition has reportedly improved somewhat.
Meanwhile, Churaibari Police registered a case under Sections 34/25 and Sections 103(1)/118(2)/61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began an investigation. Earlier, they had arrested Madan Gopal Sinha, a resident of Gobindapur. His interrogation revealed several unknown details.
Following those leads, police arrested Tapas Sinha (38), son of Lakhindra Sinha, a resident of Ward No. 4 of Nadiyapur, on Monday night.Officer-in-Charge Debabrata Biswas stated that the remaining accused involved in the incident will be arrested soon based on the information obtained during questioning.
