On Sunday, the birth anniversary of the great revolutionary leader Joseph Stalin was observed with due respect and solemnity at the CPI(M) state office. The programme was attended by the Leader of the Opposition in the state and CPI(M) Politburo member Jiten Chowdhury, along with several senior and local party leaders.

At the outset of the programme, party leaders paid floral tributes to the portrait of Joseph Stalin. This was followed by a brief discussion meeting in which the leaders recalled Stalin’s political and ideological contributions.

Speaking to the media after the programme, Leader of the Opposition Jiten Chowdhury said that Joseph Stalin’s contribution to the formation of a socialist state is unforgettable. He remarked that Stalin’s ideals and life of struggle continue to serve as a source of inspiration for the Left movement even today. At a time when issues of social justice, equality, and the protection of people’s rights are becoming increasingly important, he added, learning from Stalin’s ideals is more relevant than ever.

Jiten Chowdhury further stated that Stalin’s ideology still provides guidance in strengthening the Left movement in its struggle against exploitation and inequality in society.

Through the programme, a call was also made to awaken revolutionary consciousness among party workers and supporters and to carry forward the ideological struggle with renewed strength.
