Union Minister and senior BJP leader Kiren Rijiju has sharply reacted to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of vote rigging against the BJP. Speaking to the media in New Delhi today, Rijiju said, “It’s nothing new — whenever the Congress performs poorly, Rahul Gandhi blames the Election Commission and EVMs.”
Rijiju added that if the Congress has any objections regarding the voters’ list, they should file a formal complaint with the Election Commission instead of making baseless public statements. Taking a jibe at the Congress leader, Rijiju remarked, “Rahul Gandhi always avoids serious political issues and chooses to talk about irrelevant matters.”
Earlier, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi had alleged widespread irregularities by the BJP and the Election Commission during the Haryana Assembly elections, accusing the BJP of manipulating the electoral process through vote theft and fraud.
The BJP, in response, claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s remarks are merely an attempt to cover up the Congress’s fear of defeat and to undermine the credibility of the Election Commission.
