November 2, 2025, Sunday night.A glorious chapter was written in the history of Indian women’s cricket on this unforgettable night. Ending a long wait, the Indian women’s team lifted the Women’s Cricket World Cup for the first time ever.


In the final match, the “Women in Blue” defeated South Africa by 52 runs to claim the championship. Batting first, India scored 298 runs in 50 overs, led by a magnificent 112-run innings from Smriti Mandhana. She was well supported by Shafali Verma (64) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (47).

Chasing the target, South Africa’s batting lineup collapsed against India’s disciplined bowling attack. They were eventually bowled out for 246 runs.With the ball, Renuka Singh (3 wickets) and Pooja Vastrakar (2 wickets) delivered brilliant performances.
