Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly constructed state assembly building in Naya Raipur today during his visit to Chhattisgarh. At the same time, he also unveiled a bust of former Prime Minister of India and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said that today the country is moving forward on the path of development, but at the same time, it is equally cherishing its traditions. This thinking is reflected in every policy and decision of the Center. Chhattisgarh's new assembly building is a reflection of that idea—where the state's rich cultural heritage is reflected in the architecture.

He added, "This new building will be a strong pillar of democracy, and from here the fate of Chhattisgarh will be decided in the coming decades."

During the day-long visit, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the Brahma Kumaris' Shanti Shikhar in Naya Raipur, which has been developed as a modern spiritual education and meditation centre. Modi said, "The development of the country is inextricably linked to the development of the states. Inspired by that mantra, the government is working towards fulfilling the dream of a developed India."

Praising the Brahma Kumaris organization, the Prime Minister further said, "They believe in action, not words. I am sure that Shanti Shikhar will become an important platform in the future efforts for world peace."

Earlier, the Prime Minister visited Shri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Naya Raipur, where he met around 2,500 children who have been treated for congenital heart disease free of cost under the “Dil Ki Baat” programme. He also presented the "Gift of Life" certificates to the children on that day. Later in the day, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Shaheed Bir Narayan Singh Memorial and the Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum. He will also attend the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the formation of Chhattisgarh. On this occasion, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of multiple infrastructure and development projects worth around Tk 14,000 crore—including projects in the road, industrial, health, and energy sectors.
