Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing political attack while campaigning for the Bihar Assembly elections. Addressing a public meeting on Wednesday, he told reporters that “a wave like a tsunami is sweeping in favor of the BJP and JD(U) in Bihar. The BJP, JD(U), and all our allies will form the government together.”
Targeting Rahul Gandhi directly, Himanta Biswa Sarma made a fiery remark, saying, “Rahul Gandhi is an enemy of the nation. He has been planted by the enemies of India—to weaken the judiciary, to weaken the armed forces, and to create division in society. His ‘10 percent’ comment is completely anti-national and an insult to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. Rahul Gandhi keeps making baseless, anti-India statements. We should question why he frequently travels abroad — the government should investigate this.”
Sarma also mocked former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, saying, “When Tejashwi was Deputy Chief Minister, did he ever deposit even three rupees into any woman’s account? He didn’t give three rupees while in power, and now he’s talking about thirty thousand!”
The Assam Chief Minister didn’t spare West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee either. He commented, “NRC has been implemented in Assam but not in Bengal. Those who oppose NRC actually survive and thrive on votes from Bangladesh.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma’s explosive statements have further heated up Bihar’s political atmosphere. BJP leaders believe his speech has energized the party’s campaign, while opposition parties have condemned his comments as provocative and inflammatory.
