In Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 21st installment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, amounting to ₹18,000 crore for farmers across the country. Nearly 9 crore farmers will benefit from this installment. At the same event, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore.


While addressing the summit, the Prime Minister said that over the past 11 years, several transformative reforms have taken place in the agricultural sector. India is emerging as a global hub for natural farming, and the country’s biodiversity is gaining new vitality. He further stated that agricultural exports have doubled and various initiatives have been undertaken to modernize agriculture. More than ₹10 lakh crore has been provided to farmers through the Kisan Credit Card scheme. Additionally, the reduction of GST on bio-fertilizers has greatly benefited farmers.


The Prime Minister said that the younger generation of the country now sees agriculture as a modern and scalable opportunity. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to build a future-ready agricultural system as part of a developed India. He urged farmers to adopt natural farming practices on at least one acre of land during one cropping season to witness the results themselves.


Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan, said that 22 lakh farmers in Tamil Nadu have already benefited from the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.


The Prime Minister also interacted directly with farmers and felicitated five eminent natural farming experts. The exhibition showcased organic produce, innovations in natural farming, and best agricultural practices. The Prime Minister also visited stalls displaying various products created by farmers from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
