On Thursday, the 100th birth anniversary of the late former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee was observed. On this occasion, a programme was organized in the morning at the state BJP office. During the event, party leaders offered floral tributes to the portrait of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Among those present were Minister Tinku Roy, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, State BJP General Secretary and MLA Bhagaban Chandra Das, State President of the Mahila Morcha Mimi Majumdar, and others.

In a brief address, Minister Tinku Roy said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an extraordinary person in the eyes of both the administration and elected representatives. He always thought about village self-governance and rural development under the Panchayati system, much like Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Gram Swaraj. The minister added that the foundation for the developed India that Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks of today was laid by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Minister Tinku Roy further stated that Atal Bihari Vajpayee envisioned a ‘Golden Quadrilateral’ for the country, connecting Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi. He made efforts to improve connectivity between these four major cities and also aimed to connect villages to cities via road networks, reflecting his vision of integrated national development.
