“The Mayor laid the foundation stone for the office building of Ward No. 17.”

The foundation stone for the Ward No. 17 office building, located at Mukta Pukur Para under the Central Zone of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, was laid on Wednesday. The foundation stone was laid by the Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder. Present at the event were Deputy Mayor Monica Das Dutta, local corporators Shikha Banerjee, Snigdha Das Deb, Nibas Das, Amitava Bhattacharjee, president of the Ramnagar Mandal Committee, and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder said that many ward offices of the Agartala Municipal Corporation had been suffering due to lack of repairs. Construction work has now been undertaken for 17 such ward offices. The foundation stone for the Ward No. 17 office was laid today. He further stated that the new ward office will be built at a cost of ₹50 lakh. He emphasized that ward offices play a crucial role in delivering services to the public.

At the same event, the Mayor also inaugurated the newly built open gym adjacent to the Ward No. 17 office. The gym was constructed at a cost of ₹15 lakh. It has been created for the benefit of the local residents. The people of the area expressed happiness at getting a facility for physical exercise.
