A new chapter of activity began the moment he landed at Agartala Airport. Officials from Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Department were present at the airport premises well before the scheduled time. Shortly afterward, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram emerged through the glass-enclosed VIP gate. He was welcomed with a Risa by Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma.
It is learned that the key agenda of this visit includes—Tribal development in Tripura, the progress of central projects, and outlining future possibilities. However, sources indicate that this trip by Jual Oram is not merely a formal visit. He will directly inspect various tribal-dominated areas of the state. Special emphasis will be placed on reviewing the actual on-ground progress of projects related to education, health, connectivity, and livelihood development in the hill regions.
One of the primary objectives of the minister is to collect a detailed report on how effectively central schemes are being implemented and to identify any existing administrative bottlenecks. Beginning from Agartala, he will visit multiple districts to assess the ground realities.
According to internal assessments, the Union Minister’s visit may usher in new direction for tribal development in Tripura. The administration and the public remain hopeful that this joint inspection with Minister Bikas Debbarma will further accelerate the state’s tribal development initiatives in the coming days.
